Mohawk Industries and 3M Corp. were recently honored for the Scotchgard Protector Advanced Repel Technology found in Mohawk hardwood floors. The companies were singled out with an Emerging Technology Award by RadTech, the association for ultraviolet and electronic beam technologies. RadTech said the Scotchgard-protected floors represent "an advanced class of pre-finished solid and engineered wood floors ... with highly desirable easy-car properties."

According to Mohawk, the hardwood floors featuring the technology not only retain their appearance longer, but are also more hygienic. “The easy care and easy cleaning benefits of Scotchgard Protector Advanced Repel Technology give Mohawk retailers a unique advantage,” said Ben McNabb, Mohawk brand manager for hard surface.

Mohawk and 3M joined an esteemed group of industry leaders with their award. Other groups recognized by RadTech this year included General Motors, Ford Motor Company, and the U.S. Air Force.
