Laticrete has been featured in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing in a unique way. The company provided setting and waterproofing materials for more than 10,000 sq. meters of tile used in the five swimming pools in the city's "Water Cube" building. All the historic swimming and diving competitions took place in these pools.

Products used in the project included Laticrete 4237 Latex Additive, 211 Powder, 9235 Waterproofing Membrane and several mortar and grout systems. "Laticrete is especially recommended for its swimming pool installation system," said Chen Lei, chief engineer of the China State Construction and Engineering Corporation, which led the project. “Laticrete submitted a detailed application specification before the installation, provided on-site training for the workers, and during the application period provided on-site technical supervision to help solve problems right the first time. This ensured the smooth completion of the pool installation at the Water Cube.”
