Sicily's Stone Project group will be hosting a "Country Partnership Project" trade mission in Chicago, Oct. 21-24. The aim of the event is to raise aweareness of Sicily's stone industry, which the group says "is at the top of the major cut-stone exporting regions."
Products routinely exported from Sicily include rough marble and granite; processed materials in the form of cut stone tiles, mosaics and cubes; pieces including small blocks, paving stones and curbstones; as well as slate.
Representatives from 20 companies are set to attend the event.
